With email marketing it's always a good idea to have a way to capture visitors that come to your site. Not necessarily the way fishermen use a net, but by using a capture form. If you don't have some type of capture form available for them to request more information, then you're leaving money on the table. Once someone leaves your site, you don't know whether they'll return. A capture form provides an opportunity for you to connect with a prospect with details on your buiness or opportunity.

Don't Throw Away Money Buying Lists
There is often a tendency to want to do things the quick and easy way. That happens to me, too! But with building a mailing list, buying one ready made can be like throwing your money away. Many autoresponder services, including the one I use, will terminate your account if you attempt to use a list you purchase. You can easily be accused of spamming since none of the people on the list are familiar with you or your service. Technically, having someone become a subscriber to your list means they have actually agreed to receive messages from you.
So don't waste your time or money. You'll get tips from this blog on how to create your own subscriber list with opt-in email marketing.

A Little Introduction
I've posted blogs off and on, but this one will be a main resource for people who want to learn more about Email Marketing. Some history about me, I used to be one one of those network technicians who connected your computer to the company's Internet backbone in the late 90's, so I've been around technology for a minute or two. I've played around with everything from UNIX workstations (don't worry if you've never heard of those), to the first Apple PowerBook, to my current Toshiba laptop.
I now run Ebiz Advertising in Philadelphia, PA, and refer services for people who want to promote their online and offline businesses. TrafficWave.net is the autoresponder service I prefer for email marketing. Stay tuned for some tips and tricks I've learned through real life trials and experiences.
Well, I've shared a little about myself. You can feel free to introduce yourself as well and post any questions about email marketing you'd like to see covered here. Thanks for stopping by!
